Italvolley defeated 

On its debut in the Volleyball Nations League 2024, the Italian women’s national team è was outplayed by Poland 0-3 (26-28, 23-25, 21-25). The Azzurri were beaten at the end of a hard-fought match, in which they have the regret of not being able to take advantage of four set balls in the first fraction. In the second Poland è was ahead for a long time, Italy perè did not give up and came close to a comeback. In the third a long break by Poland broke the balance, handing the match to the red and white.

On the blue side, the best scorer è was Ekaterina Antropova with 16 points, ahead of the Danesi-Bosetti pair, both scoring 10 points. The best scorer of the ’match è was Magdalena Stysiak with 18 points. Velasco’s girls were more incisive at the wall (11 against the opponents’s 9), while at bat 4 were the opponents’s aces, compared to 2 for the tricolor lineup.

Today’s defeat è cost the Azzurri 10.63 points in the world ranking. Tomorrow Italy will have a day off, before returning to the court on Thursday, May 16 against Germany (1 p.m. Italian time).
