Jarno Trulli downsizes Lewis Hamilton
The words of Jarno Trulli
Jarno Trulli did not mince words when speaking about Formula 1 today with La Repubblica: “I see people around called ‘pilots’ who get ahead thanks to money, not talent. And I think: ‘What a shame, that one there’s not in the same business as me’ and it doesn’t take much to figure it out".
"Alonso and Hamilton are two phenomena, but if at 40 years old they are still in Formula 1 and are competitive è whyé some of those who run with them should stay at home”, added the'former driver, downsizing the two world champions.
During an interview with the microphones of the daily newspaper "La Repubblica", Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, just a few days before the Imola weekend, è instead returned to talk about the signing of Lewis Hamilton, who will take the place of Carlos Sainz starting in 2025. In addition to providing a few more details on the negotiations, the former Alfa Romeo manager also commented on the impact the seven-time world champion will have in the Prancing Horse box.
"Honestly, it wasnè t so difficult to convince Lewis to make this decision. I think he had it in his mind for quite some time to move to Ferrari. This year for a number of reasons, including the fact that he had the option to leave Mercedes and that we had a seat available and a good relationship with him, created the favorable conditions to complete the transaction. I think it is a good opportunity for both Hamilton and Ferrari" began the Ferrari team principal.
"I know his professionalism, not that our drivers don't have it, but Lewis has a different view of things and we can all benefit from that. He has great experience in the field and also in winning championships. He will certainly bringà speed to the track, but not only that. He will also contribute with his knowledge outside the car, on how to approach the weekend. He's someone who knows how to put pressure on the team with the goal of achieving excellence" added Frederic Vasseur.
