Naples, bad news on the Osimhen front
Victor Osimhen doesn’t make it
Napoli will have to do without Victor Osimhen ahead of Friday night’s match against Fiorentina, a match that will open the penultimate round of the 2023/2024 Serie A championship. The Nigerian forward, in fact, has not recovered from the muscle strain that had already limited him during the last training sessions under the orders of coach Francesco Calzona.
In the away match in Florence, the last away game of the season of the outgoing Italian champions, there will not be, therefore, the Napoli bomber, who despite the season below expectations by the club è still managed, so far, to score 15 goals that are worth the third place among the scorers of A, behind Lautaro Martinez of Inter (24) and Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus (16).
Napoli's goal then becomes to see Osimhen again in the last league game, scheduled for Sunday, May 26, at the 'Maradona' against Lecce. A match that could also be Osimhen's last in the Azzurri, since his name è not a little coveted, in soccer market terms, among the European big names.
Failure to qualify for the Champions League could accelerate the Nigerian’s sales plans: the accounts will be made forò in June, when there will be; to plan the summer soccer market after putting behind them a completely different season than the triumphant ride of 2022/2023.
