Carlos Sainz cuts short on future and reveals his hope for Imola GP
The words of Carlos Sainz
Among the drivers who spoke at the press conference for the presentation of the Imola Gp there è was also Carlos Sainz, who è expounded on several topics from the future to his feelings ahead of this weekend until returning to the dangerous maneuver made by Sergio Perez in the start of the Miami Gp.
"We hope to make progress this weekend with the updates, although a lot depends on the track. In Miami we had a very good pace, but the SF-24 è seemed to return to normal compared to China and Japan. We hope that Imola will allow us to give a great show to the public" began the Spanish driver at the microphones of "Sky Sport F1".
"I have not yet made any decision about the future. There is no news; and I am convinced that now there is no reason to be in a hurry. When the time is right I will carefully evaluate the situation and make the best choice for my career" continued the Ferrari driver.
"Perez at the Miami start put out two drivers but theì there's been no sanction. I think you shouldn't look at the outcome of an action to give penalties and this è difficult to understand" added the number 55 regarding the maneuver made by the Mexican of Red Bull in the previous Gp.
"The first time I heard an F1 noise I got scared and thought 'these are crazy'. But from there; I became an F1 fan with the goal of becoming a driver. 2026 can be an opportunity to bring back those feelings. What is missing in new places è the 'old school' feeling that tracks like Imola have. They need to be maintained, perhaps improved from a showmanship standpoint while maintaining their soul. Tracks like this or Suzuka tio make you feel the 'essence of F1" concluded Carlos Sainz.
