Napoli: Conte, Italian or Tudor? Aurelio De Laurentiis takes stock
An opportunity to take stock of the possible, next coach.
Calciomercato Napoli: Aurelio De Laurentiis breaks his silence on the future Azzurri coach ahead of next season, although he did not at all give an opinion on the person who will pick up the baton from Francesco Calzona. If anything, in a press conference, the patron of the Neapolitan club spoke very cautiously about the Antonio Conte'hypothesis and made clear the names of Vincenzo Italiano and Igor Tudor, both in the past and in the future.
"You talked about it, I talked about it in November and since then I have never done it again – said De Laurentiis about a possible landing of Conte at Napoli -. I remember forò that when I called Sarri from Empoli they wrote banners against me, and it went bad even after the arrival of Spalletti. So let's be calm. Here it seems that only one man can take the team to important goals, but it seems to me that I and my staff have guaranteed Europe for 14 years".
It is a different matter for Vincenzo Italiano, whom even De Laurentiis admitted could arrive already last season: "He was ready to come, but I did not want to wrong Fiorentina. With Barone and Commisso there was a feeling and a relationship, I did not want to harm them".
Finally, the Tudor option. "He wanted two years on his contract, and I didn't feel like tying myself down for the next season. I was already imagining a final season with a re-foundation, and I could certainly have sent him away when the championship was over, but I am a decent person. And if I sign a contract, I want to respect it", De Laurentiis concluded.
