The penultimate day of Serie A opens with a spectacular draw between Fiorentina and Napoli. It ends, in fact, 2-2 between the Viola and Azzurri. The guests immediately went ahead with Rrahmani but were overturned in the final part of the first half by Biraghi and Nzola. In the resumption Kvaratskhelia brought the challenge back to parity, signing the final 2-2.
Napoli got off to a strong start and in the eighth minute took the lead: a corner by Politano and a winning break by Rrahmani. Five minutes later, Kvaratskhelia tried twice in the space of a minute: first with a flat left-footed shot from inside the area that ended up out and then with a right-footed shot from the edge that went off the bottom. In the final Fiorentina turned it around in two minutes: on 40’ Biraghi perfectly converted a free kick from the edge; two minutes later Nzola took advantage of a Politano mistake and beat Meret with a right-footed shot into the corner.
In the second half, Nico Gonzalez immediately engaged Meret with a beautiful left-footed shot. At 57’ the Azzurri tied the score with a pearl of Kvaratskhelia on a free kick. Five minutes later Politano chipped the post with a left-footed shot from the edge. At 74’ Nico Gonzalez tried again but Meret è was alert, a minute later Politano engaged Terracciano with a shot at the first post. At’80 the referee awarded a penalty kick to the Viola, revoked forò after Var review.
With this draw, Fiorentina climbs to 54 points in the standings, still stable in eighth position, two points ahead of Napoli itself, which moves to 52. The Viola are not yet arithmetically certain of the Conference League, while a hope of qualification still remains alive for the Azzurri.
