Sky expands the’offer
Sky expands its offer thanks to an extraordinary new event: the European Athletics Championships, live on Sky and streaming on NOW from June 7 to 12. Thanks to an agreement with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), this summer the continent’s best athletes will compete live on Sky from Rome’s Olympic Stadium, in the Foro Italico Park and on some of the capital’s most fascinating streets.
It will be the third Italian edition of the European Athletics Championships, after the 1934 in Turin and the 1974 in Rome. The competitions, which will put 147 medals up for grabs for the 24 different specialties, will be broadcast live on Sky Sport channels, which will show the five morning sessions and six evening sessions in full, offering complete coverage of the Roman event.
“&It is with great pleasure that we announce a major new event in Sky’s House of Sport, the European Athletics Championships ‘Rome 2024’. Our country returns to organize a major international event and Sky will be present with the added value of Sky touch – live broadcasts, in-depth coverage, studies – that characterizes as always our events. The Roman appointment, together with the broadcast of the Wanda Diamond League and World Athletics Continental Tour – Gold meetings, makes even stronger the bond between Sky and the world of athletics’ said Marzio Perrelli, Executive Vice President Sport of Sky.
The two main voices that will narrate the European Athletics Championships will be those of Nicola Roggero and Stefano Baldini, 2004 Olympic marathon champion in Athens.
