Red Bull driver Sergio Perez experienced a difficult weekend at Imola, finishing in eighth place, nearly a minute behind teammate Max Verstappen. For the Mexican driver, who is seeking reconfirmation in the team and had started well in the championship this year, è the worst result of the season.

After the race Perez pointed the finger at the Imola track: "I think this track is not made for Formula 1. With the cars we have and after shortening the DRS zone, overtaking was very difficult and we needed a very important delta in the tires".

"Maybe we could get closer to the Mercedes and put them under pressure, we could still do better. But overall by qualifying in’11th° place, we had already ruined our weekend", bitterly concluded the Mexican driver.
