Lorenzo Sonego – Mpetshi Perricard 3-6 4-6

Very bitter debut for Lorenzo Sonego at the Lyon ATP 250. The Piedmontese tennis player, in fact, got è surprised by Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, number 117 in the ATP ranking, and entered the draw thanks to a wildcard. The blue è surrendered in two sets (3-6 4-6) to the transalpine after an hour and nineteen minutes of play.

Sonego starts badly, giving up serve in his first round of serve. Mpetshi Perricard thanks and confirms the break, immediately flying to 3-0. The Azure is unable to undermine the Frenchman on serve, closing 6-3 for the first set in just 32 minutes.

In the second set, Sonego managed to put up more resistance but in the fifth game lost his serve again. What’s more, the Piedmontese player calls medical time-out for a back problem, re-entering the court not at his best. At that point it was just a matter for Mpetshi Perricard to administer the lead and close 6-4 on the second match point.

Sonego must thusì abandon the'"Open Parc". The Azure will return to the court for Roland Garros, which kicks off on Sunday, May 26.
