Modena Volleyball, the roster
It’ was presented, this morning at the PalaPanini press room, the Modena Volleyball roster for the 2024/25 season. In attendance were Sports Director Alberto Casadei and Coach Alberto Giuliani.
“It’ a beautiful day full of enthusiasm,” says Casadei, “we want to look forward with confidence and present the roster for next season. Let’s start with the confirmations, namely Sanguinetti and Stankovic as middle hitters, Davyskiba and Rinaldi as setters and Federici and Gollini in the libero department. And’ De Cecco has arrived, the right player to fill the role of setter in a square like Modena and in a team that needs hinges and cornerstones in an increasingly competitive league. At his side there’è Anzani, both he and Luciano have very high values in terms of experience, maturity and technique as well as Stankovic and Massari. I also mention Meijs, at his first experience outside the’Netherlands and we are happy that he is here with us, and Mati, a young talent we have been following for years. It’ was an important negotiation and started from afar, we are proud to have brought him to Modena. Like all young people he will need time, but he has the potential to become a protagonist. Finally, in the opposing department there’è the return of Buchegger back from an excellent championship played in Catania and the noveltyà Ikhbayri, a new entry last year in Korea. He impressed us during the Dubai Tournament and now he will haveà a chance to show off in the Italian league. Our willè è to rekindle the enthusiasm at PalaPanini with balance and qualityà of play, improving the results of last season. On an organic level, we must try to stick to the top, knowing that there are at least five teams ahead of us. We set a goal and then naturally try to go even higher. Right now, with the forces around us, it becomes a more and more difficult battle and we will have to give it our all at every opportunity”.
“The task of the club,” Giuliani explained, “has been to assemble the best roster possible with our resources. The staff’s goal is to allow the players to express a good level of volleyball. I really like this team, I will curate it and bring it to perform to its full potential. The mix of experts and young people doesné t put limits on us neither at the top nor at the bottom, so it will be up to us to do the best we can. The training è has been composed by the whole club, in synergy and with the cooperation of everyone. Who will play? Choices will be made based on training performance, healthy competition will have toà be a great stimulus to improve daily. We will always enter the field with the will to win, thinking only of ourselves. It’ s been made a big effort with what we had, let’ s see where we will get”.
