Italy got off on the right foot in Volleyball Nations League by beating Germany 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-23) not without difficulty; showing tenacity in winning the third set 25-23 with the Germans ahead 23-19. It’ was the win that was needed to break the ice and get off to a good start on this path from the important goal, qualification for the Olympic Games. The 3-0 win over the Germans is worth a +5.15 in the ranking that sees Italy first among the non-qualifiers.

In the win to be noted the good entry of Porro, author of 3 points, in his debut in an international tournament with the senior team, the return to the court of Simone Anzani and the 14 points of Michieletto, best scorer of the match.  
Thursday is a work day for the Azzurri, who will not take the court before their next consecutive commitments with Iran, Japan and Brazil.

Satisfied captain Simone Giannelli: "We were good in the third set to turn the situation around, we were good to stay there, to play, to move forward without letting the set go, we were compact and this we have to carry us forward. We had to play several long actions, we have good room for improvement from a technical point of view both on the side out, batting and wall, this we have to continue to do better. It was the first game we have to break us all in, we have to start thinking all together again how to play good volleyball but è normal, it was the first game, winning is never a given, on to the next one.
