Nahitan Nandez and farewell to Serie A: “I didn’t want to play against Cagliari.”
A farewell to the championship to honor his now former team.
Cagliari soccer market: Nahitan Nandez has donned the Rossoblù jersey and accepted a transfer to Saudi Arabia, where he has already signed as the new player of Al-Qadsiah FC. But the Uruguayan, whose contract with the island club was set to expire on June 30, has meanwhile admitted that he could have continued playing in Serie A. If he didn't è mostly because of the love he continues to feel for the Sardinian team and people.
"In Cagliari I spent five wonderful years, è it was a unique experience. On my last day there, against Fiorentina, the fans showed me so much affection. And that made me extremely happy", Nandez explained to the press present at Uruguay's retreat, ahead of the Copa America.
Then the soccer market revelation: "I had the possibility" to continue playing in Italy. After five years at Cagliari, però, I did not want to find myself playing against them as an opponent. I had promised that I would not, and I kept my word", said Nandez.
The Uruguayan then devoted a few words to his next club, the newly promoted Al-Qadsiah FC in the Saudi Pro League. "It will beà a new experience for me, an interesting project", were Nandez's words.
