Jannik Sinner wins first set with Eubanks
Jannik Sinner – Christopher Eubanks 6-3
Jannik Sinner is off to a good start in the first round of Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam of the season being played on the clay courts of Bois de Boulogne. The South Tyrolean, in fact, è won the first set against U.S. tennis player Christopher Eubanks, number 46 in the ATP rankings.
Sinner got off to a strong start, immediately putting pressure on Eubanks, who was already forced to the advantages in the opening game. Thus, in the third game came the South Tyrolean’s break, who repeated it in the fifth game, going up 4-1. The Italian, however, surrendered one of the two break leads but on 4-3 he placed a new and decisive stretch that allowed him to win the partial 6-3 after 39 minutes.
What is being staged is the 123rd edition of the French Open, one of the four tournaments that are part of the Grand Slam, the second in order of time after the Australian Open, which in 2024 will be won by Jannik Sinner among men and Aryna Sabalenka among women.
