The feeling è that Monte Carlo may have changed several balances.

Charles Leclerc won the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, breaking a string of 40 rainbow rounds without success in Formula 1. Not only that, becauseé the Ferrari driver had never before this year even managed to get on the podium of his home race. A double tabù broken, in short, which according to Frederic Vasseur could represent a long-awaited turning point for him.

"I am convinced that this victory will be of great help to him, and it will give him a lot of self-confidence,” said Vasseur. “For Leclerc è it is really important to have won in Monaco, because in recent years he has suffered the burden of not succeeding. And in the past he has also reaped several disappointments through bad luck, both in Alfa Romeo and Ferrari".

Vasseur also found some important differences between the current Leclerc and that of even the recent past: "Last year he was nervous already from the beginning of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. This year, however, he è managed to relax more, and already from the first lap of free practice he was flying. And I am sure that, even beyond Monte Carlo, his confidence and approach will also grow in the upcoming rainbow events".

Ferrari moreover now intends to openly challenge Red Bull. A point on which Vasseur è was clear: "I never said the Formula 1 world championship was closed. We still have to have 16 Grand Prix, there are still about 500 points up for grabs. And I don’t think even Verstappen ever considered himself already; champion of 2024" either. Leclerc and all the other drivers on the grid are on notice.
