Ducati, Jorge Martin-Marc Marquez: Claudio Domenicali sets deadline
Claudio Domenicali gets unstuck on Pecco Bagnaia’s future teammate
During an interview with the microphones of the Spanish daily "AS", Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali was blunt about the issue that has been holding court since the start of the season, namely who will be Pecco Bagnaia’s next teammate in the factory team between Enea Bastianini, Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin. In added, the blue executive has also set the deadline for the final decision.
"We have not decided anything yet, the rider will beà communicated after Mugello and by Assen. It won't be easy to retain both Martin and Marquez, but it won't be impossible. The sporting aspect will always be the preponderant one, but if the talent è also combined with a value at the marketing level even better" began the CEO of Ducati.
"What Jorge and Marc have done so far è something extraordinary, but there are a few fits and starts to be defined, there's Pramac and other not minor budget issues. Companies have to be in economic balance. In Ducati we cannot disregard this, the sports aspect è important, but we have the responsibility of 2,000 families" added the 59-year-old executive.
"Today Ducati è the team that has probably the most balanced riders, bikes, team and management consistency. The people who make the most important decisions have been the same for a long time and this has ensured a continuity that has paid off over time" concluded Claudio Domenicali.
