Wimbledon: Carlos Alcaraz is already not thinking about Jannik Sinner
After defeating young qualifier Mark Lajal in the opener, Carlos Alcaraz, during an interview with the microphones of "CNN", dwelt on the pressure and responsibilities related to being the defending Wimbledon champion. In addition, the Murcian also commented on the possible new confrontation with Jannik Sinner, whom he would only find in the semifinals.
"The responsibility of having to defend the title makes this tournament even more special. I am trying not to think about the pressure I have to defend the points or the desire to go far. Compared to last year, I am more mature. I know how to play on grass and I have more experience on this surface" debuted the Spanish number one.
"Everyone wants to see the match between me and Jannik in the semifinals and then either me or Sinner against Djokovic in the final. Everybody wants it, but è it's a very long process, since we're only at the beginning of the tournament. We will see if we can find ourselves in that position" added the Murcian.
"I want to be one of the best ever. I want to sit at the same table as the Big 3, the legends of our sport. To achieve this dream, I want to be surrounded by brands and people who share the same ambitions as me. I have achieved great results so far, but è something I don’t want to think about, becauseè I am already focused on future" concluded Carlos Alcaraz.
