From snow to snowshoe, the historic decision è came for very specific reasons.

Jannik Sinner is enchanting in tennis, where he è became world No. 2 by stringing together a long string of consecutive victories and putting himself in the trophy cabinet in these early months of 2024, first the Australian Open and then the Miami Open. Yet, as is well known, before the start of his triumphant career the South Tyrolean had tried his hand at skiing. Decisive was the change of discipline, on which he decided to provide some explanation.

He did so during a lengthy interview for 'Vogue' during which he confessed: "When I was younger I often won in skiing, while in tennis it never happened. Then, little by little, I started losing in skiing, because I wasn&#39t physically ready to compete. I was too skinny and all that. The reason I chose tennis è that in this sport you can make mistakes. You can lose points, but you can still win the match. In skiing, if you make a mistake, a big mistake, you have no chance to win".

Mistakes and maybe defeats, like the ones with Carlos Alcaraz or Alexander Zverev at the US Open in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Two crucial milestones in Sinner&#39s growth, as he himself admitted: "&It was a difficult moment for me, psychologically, because I felt that I was getting closer to the goal. From that moment, I started to work on myself. Particularly on the psychological part. I started to accept my mistakes. And I tried to work on these little things, which at some point can make a difference".
