Cremonese takes two from Catanzaro
Double acquisition
Cremonese announced that it has picked up two players from Catanzaro. Jari Vandeputte arrives in grigiorosso on a temporary basis with a buy-back obligation: same formula for Andrea Fulignati.
It dates back to 2017 the arrival in Italy of the left outside player and the subsequent debut in Serie C with Viterbese. With the Lazio team he lives two seasons as a protagonist, scoring 14 goals and distributing 17 assists in 90 appearances. In September 2019 Vandeputte moved to Vicenza where he first won the Serie B and in the following championship made his debut in the second division of Italian soccer.
The Belgian player then settles in Catanzaro where he plays the last three seasons conquering another promotion to Serie B and showing all his talent that sees him among the main actors of the excellent championship of the Eagles, who reached the playoff semifinals for Serie A. King of assists 2023/24 with 14 balls distributed to teammates for finalization, scoring 9 goals.
Internationally, Vandeputte boasts 24 appearances with Belgium’s youth national teams, including 16 with the Under-19 formation.
Fulignati, born in Empoli on Oct. 31, 1994, grew up in the youth sector of his hometown team. A goalkeeper like his father and grandfather, he continued his career at Cuoiocappiano and Sestese before moving to Palermo. In the rosanero jersey he made his Serie A debut in March 2017 (9 appearances).
Since then he passes through the experiences of Cesena, Ascoli, Spal and Perugia before joining Catanzaro, where è protagonist of the ride that brings the Eagles from Serie C to Serie B. In the last championship with his interventions (119 saves, the highest total in B), he dragged the Giallorossi to the playoff semifinals. He boasts 3 appearances with the shirt of the Italy Under 19.
