From Paris to Paris, from Charlety to the Stade de France, from the Wanda Diamond League to the Olympics. È already time to compete in the French capital for four Azzurri aiming high at the Olympic Games, kicking off for athletics on Aug. 1.
On Sunday afternoon (July 7), the eighth leg of the world’s top circuit will feature four medal winners from the European Championships in Rome: European champions Lorenzo Simonelli (Esercito), king of the 110 hurdles at the Olympic stadium and world indoor silver medalist in the 60hs, and Filippo Tortu (Fiamme Gialle), Olympic gold medalist and last fractionist of the winning relay in Rome, competing in the 200 meters in Paris.
Along with them, Europe’s outdoor and indoor silver medalist in the long jump Larissa Iapichino (Fiamme Oro) and Glasgow world indoor bronze medalist in the 60 as well as European bronze medalist at the Olympics in the 100 Zaynab Dosso (Fiamme Azzurre).
Three azzurri instead in Hengelo (Netherlands) Sunday afternoon in the Continental Tour Gold: they are the asthists Roberta Bruni (Carabinieri), Italian champion in La Spezia, and Elisa Molinarolo (Fiamme Oro) debilitated by a physical ailment at the Absolute (fourth). They will find Greece’s Katerina Stefanidi.
