Through a message posted on his own social channels, Gianmarco Tamberi updated on his condition after the hamstring injury that forced him to miss the Szekesfehervar Meeting, a stage of the World Continental Tour (gold level, the second largest international touring circuit).

"I am not ashamed to say it, I have cried 3 times in the last 24 hours,” Gimbo began, “…probably because of tension, probably because of fear and maybe also becauseé in part all this I have already experienced. I feel like crying even now as I write, it destroys me to think that I could jeopardize my path to what I have worked so hard for".

"Fortunately, muscular injuries have been ruled out,” continued the blue-shirted athlete, “but the MRI shows a significant edematous area of the hamstring probably due to a small myofascial injury (the membrane covering the muscle). Recovery time should theoretically be fairly quick but I will definitely have to undergo a week of intensive therapies and differentiated training. The Olympics as a time frame is not in jeopardy but all the approaching competitions that would have helped me achieve the best form that day are".

"I dreamed of a trouble-free run and for the first time in my life this was going to happen but now I find myself lying in a bed with a thousand doubts and fears. Only one thing rumbles in my head and gives me strength: if no one has è ever succeeded before, there must be a reason!  No one in history has ever crowned the dream of winning two gold medals in this damn sport and I swear to you that I, despite this stop, will continue to do everything to be the first in succeeding. It won&#39t be easy, I know … but objectively I ask myself: what è been easy in my career!?!! I swear it does not end hereI!" concludes Tamberi.
