Tour de France, stage 11: Vingegaard wins over Pogacar who remains in yellow jersey
Jonas Vingegaard is smiling again three months after his terrible crash in the fourth stage of the Tour of the Basque Country. The Danish champion, in fact, made his own the 11th stage of the Tour de France, 211 kilometers long, from Evaux-les-Bains to Le Lorian and with as many as 6 GPMs and 4350 meters of elevation gain.
The Team Visma | Lease a Bike rider sprinted past Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) on the finish line in Le Lorian. Completing the podium was Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), 25 seconds back. Among the Azzurri to be reported the excellent race of Giulio Ciccone who closes in fifth place.
Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) remains in the yellow jersey of general classification leader, 66 seconds ahead of Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step) and 74 seconds ahead of Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike).
Thursday’s appointment with the twelfth stage, which runs from Aurillac to Villeneuve sur Lot and is 203.6 kilometers long, with a good 2,200 meters of elevation gain.
