F1, Damon Hill chastises Charles Leclerc: “He looks confused.”
The former British driver stands by Sainz
.
Ferrari is struggling at this time of the F1 season. In particular, è in great difficulty is Leclerc. After winning the Monaco GP, at home, the Monegasque driver è lost. Contextually, teammate Sainz is doing great, so much so that he is now only four points behind Ferrari’s leading driver, namely Leclerc.
A performance decidedly at polar opposites that of the two Ferrari drivers, so much so that a legend like Hill struggles to understand whyè the Rossa decided to put its cards on Leclerc instead of Sainz: "What is happening in Ferrari è a mystery to me. Carlos Sainz is doing much better and seems to be doing much more than Leclerc; Leclerc. Yet, è Charles Leclerc the driver who will stay", his clear words to the F1 Nation podcast.
Hill, the 1996 World Champion, seems convinced that Sainz was dumped too quickly by Ferrari and that Leclerc is not performing as well as he should. In short, the former British driver does not understand the choices made by the top management of the Cavallino and, above all, he sees a Leclerc who is not perfectly centered: "He is not getting a big hand from the team but he also seems a little bit in confusion and I do not understand why".
Clearly, Leclerc has only one way to answer Hill, and that is to prove on the track that he is the best solution for Ferrari. After several GPs in which he has disappointed, the Monegasque has a great desire to redeem himself, already; starting with the next GP, scheduled, this weekend, in Hungary.
