Fiorentina, Nikola Milenkovic on parting step: race against time for replacement
Fiorentina: via Milenkovic, focus on Pongracic
There are no more obstacles now to the negotiation that will bring, to its conclusion, Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina to Nottingham Forest. The Serbian defender, after seven seasons in the purple, will wantà therefore in the Premier League and will goà to reinforce the backroom of the club that boasts, in its palmarès, two Champions Cups (1979 and 1980).
The lily club is moving for his replacement and has already identified a name to focus on, that of Lecce’s Marin Pongracic: for the Croatian center-back, recently seen at Euro 2024, a move to Ligue 1, to Rennes, seemed to be on the horizon, but the purple club, according to 'Tmw' reports, wants to try to draw the offer in extremis to secure the 26-year-old’s performance.
Pongracic, born in Germany to Croatian parents, è grew up in the youth ranks of Bayern Munich and Ingolstadt 04. He then wore the jerseys of Munich 1860, Salzburg, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and Lecce, where he played for two seasons, collecting 46 total appearances between the league and Coppa Italia.
If Fiorentina succeeds in overtaking Rennes in the preferences of the player and Lecce itself, it would immediately go to fill the hole left by the now imminent departure of Milenkovic, who after 262 games with the purple jersey has decided to face a new experience by going beyond the Channel.
