Arianna Errigo took up fencing at the age of six, urged by her mother to try the sport at Club Scherma Monza. A left-handed outfielder, her decisive, quick and impulsive style often leads her to close assaults quickly, earning her the nickname “TsunAry”.
Married to her coach Luca Simoncelli, Arianna has had an extraordinary career, collecting 3 Olympic, 22 world and 19 European medals. Her greatest feat dates back to 2023: in March she gave birth to twins, Mirea and Stefano, and in July she won the world team title and individual silver in Milan.
Mom extraordinaire and legendary athlete, Arianna Errigo è chosen as one of the two flag bearers of the Italy Team for the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics, succeeding in her discipline to Valentina Vezzali, who was the Italian flag bearer in the London 2012 edition.
Arianna Errigo è an emblematic figure of Italian fencing, able to successfully combine family life and a sporting career of the highest level, representing a model of inspiration for future generations of fencers.
