Motogp champion Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia and Domizia Castagnini got married in Pesaro. VIP wedding in the afternoon at the Cathedral of Pesaro with the winner of three world titles (in 2018 in Moto2, and in 2022 and 2023 in MotoGP) the traditional long wait in front of the church, of the bride arrived 40 minutes late.
The central Rossini Street had been closed to traffic for hours. Crowds around the cathedral: fans waited undaunted in the sunshine for the arrival of the bride and groom, Piedmontese from Chivasso, and guests, including a much applauded Valentino Rossi and consort, as well as singer Cesare Cremonini and fiancée Giorgia Cardinaletti, a Rai journalist.
All the drivers of Vr46, Valentino Rossi’s stable, were present, including Franco Morbidelli and Marco Bezzecchi, Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini. The cathedral, rich with mosaics, was decorated with a turquoise carpet and flowers in strong colors along with pampas and white flowers: the bride had a lace dress from the Ratti boutique with a three-meter train; the excited groom a gray suit, flower in the buttonhole, light blue tie. The ceremony, officiated by Don Mario Florio, was off limits to those not invited to the wedding, with bouncers at the entrance.
At the end of the service, showers of rice and white flower petals greeted the union of a couple who have decided for years to live in Pesaro so much so that the Piedmontese Bagnaia received the city's honorary citizenship. This was followed by dinner at Villa Imperiale for a cost of 6,000 euros d'rent of the ancient mansion in the San Bartolo hills, with a menù entrusted to Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura. Tortellini alla modenese and veal alla Pollok in addition to many culinary surprises and exclusive wines. The guests are about 250. For the bride and groom, also exclusive is the car chosen: a gray Porsche 356 spider from the 1950s sailed from Via Rossini to Villa Imperiale amid applause from people armed with cell phones with worn batteries for the thousands of shots and videos.
