Paris 2024, Kerr candid with Dream Team: ‘Need gold’
Five wins from five matches in friendly tests for Dream Team
The time for friendlies (five, all won) è ended. Now it’s time to get serious. The Dream Team è to Paris with one goal: to win the gold medal. Sunday (5:15 p.m.) è scheduled for the debut match in the Olympic tournament against hostile Serbia, a national team with plenty of talent and also the right physicality to bother the U.S. stars.
Coach Kerr has intensified practice, as if to explain to his players that there'è no more room for error. Still worrying is Durant’s condition. His presence against Serbia, at the moment, still seems in doubt even though Kerr is hopeful that the calf problem is now almost completely gone.
"We need to be ready for 40 minutes. We need strength, focus and concentration. We cannot allow teams to outperform us in terms of effort and energy, as happened the other night against Germany and as we did against South Sudan", the words of the US national team coach himself.
Kerr è aware that only winning the gold medal will allow the group to enjoy this expedition to Paris 2024: "This can become one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives. But the best way to make it so è winning the gold medal". Today the team è expected at the Olympic Village where they will spend time together with their American colleagues.
