Alfred Duncan explains why he chose Venice
Alfred Duncan to Venice
Venezia is strengthening its midfield sector ahead of the 2024/25 season, the one of its return to Serie A, with the arrival of Alfred Duncan. The Inter school midfielder, who has just returned from a long experience at Fiorentina (from January 2020 to June 2024, excluding a spell at Cagliari in the first six months of 2021), explained to the club’s official channels the reasons for his choice.
"I chose to come to Venezia because of the project that was presented to me by the club and the coach and I am really proud to be part of it,” said the Ghanaian footballer, who signed a two-year deal with an option for renewal. In past years I have been shown how it is never easy to play at the Penzo because of the energy the fans";know how to transmit.
"This is precisely why I tell all of them to always support us becauseé we will give our all to get to the’goal" then concluded the same Duncan, trying to further charge an environment already galvanized by the return to the top division after two consecutive seasons in the cadetteria.
That of Venezia will be the seventh club jersey Duncan will wear as a professional. After his beginnings at Inter, the 1993-born footballer successively played in the uniforms of Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Fiorentina and Cagliari. Duncan also boasts 10 appearances for the Ghana national team in his career, between 2012 and 2019.
