Sixteen-year-old Ban Hyojin of South Korea won the gold medal in the 10-meter rifle after a thrilling playoff with China’s Huang Yuting. The talented Asian è became the youngest winner of an individual Olympic gold medal in shooting: è was born Sept. 20, 2007 and è grew up in Daegu.

The final è was decided by a margin of a tenth of a point: 10.4 versus 10.3 in the shoot-off. The bronze medal è went to Switzerland’s Audrey Gogniat: for the Red Swiss it è was the first podium in this edition of the Olympics.

Switzerland won a total of 13 medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The haul includes 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.

Jolanda Neff won gold in women’s cross-country cycling, Nina Christen won gold in women’s 50-meter three-position rifle, and Belinda Bencic triumphed in women’s singles tennis.
