Fourth gold for Italy at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and it comes from canoeing. Giovanni De Gennaro, a 32-year-old native of Brescia, triumphed in the kayak slalom event with a total time of 88”22 without suffering any penalties.

È the fourth medal won by Italy in this competition after Pierpaolo Ferrazzi’s gold in Barcelona 1992 and bronze in Sydney 2000 and Daniele Molmenti’s gold in London 2012.
