Girona beat Napoli 2-0 in the friendly in Castel di Sangro. The Iberian team scored the lead on 23' of the first half with Van de Beek and doubled on 38' of the second half with Villa.
The match in Castel di Sangro è was the last of the preparation of Napoli, which remains in the Abruzzo resort until Aug. 9, before returning home for its official debut match in the Coppa Italia in the Aug. 10 match at the Maradona against Modena.
