After the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, suffered in Sunday night’s friendly against Parma, Atalanta striker Gianluca Scamacca è underwent surgery. This was announced by the Nerazzurri club itself via an official note.
"Atalanta BC announces that in the early afternoon of today, Monday, August 5, Gianluca Scamacca è underwent arthroscopy of the left knee for the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament" reads the statement of the Bergamasque club.
"The’surgery, performed by Prof. Mariani at the Villa Stuart Nursing Home in Rome, è perfectly successful. The player will start immediately the rehabilitation program" closes the note of the orobici.
Recovery time is quite long: the Azzurri striker will have to stay out for at least six months, skipping a good part of next season, starting with the big challenge with Real Madrid, the Uefa Super Cup final, scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 9 p.m. in Warsaw.
