Matteo Zurloni started the Paris 2024 Olympics with momentum in the speed climbing discipline. The sports climbing world champion shined in the second qualifying climb, recording an extraordinary time of 4"94.
This result secured him fourth place in the ranking, representing both his personal best and a new European record.

Matteo started practicing the discipline when he was just 5 years old pushed by his dad and already held the European record with a time of 5.023 seconds and the Italian record with a time of 4.95 seconds, although the latter was not recognized at the continental level since ité was not achieved in an international competition.
Sport climbing is practiced both outdoors and in closed urban environments. Currently, there are more than 25 million climbers in 150 countries around the world. Zurloni, a second-year exercise science student, a fan of Marvel movies and Stephen King novels, è ready to write the story at Paris 2024.
