Bad news from track cycling as far as our colors are concerned. In the first round of the men’s team pursuit, the quartet composed of Filippo Ganna, Jonathan Milan, Simone Consonni and Francesco Lamon (3:43.205) lost the confrontation with Australia (3:40.730) and will play the bronze against Denmark.

The Azzurri are therefore forced to abdicate after the title they won in Tokyo three years ago but will at least try to confirm themselves on the podium, in the final that will be played tomorrow night.

Good debut instead for the women’s quartet formed by Chiara Consonni, Martina Fidanza, Vittoria Guazzini and Letizia Paternoster, who sign the fourth best time (4:07.579) in the qualifications and in the first round find New Zealand (first in 4:04.679), against whom they will play’access to the final for the gold medal.
