Paris 2024 Olympics, Imane Khelif wins again and hits the finals

Imane Khelif beats Janjaem Suwannapheng and makes the women’s welterweight final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Algerian, who in the round of 16 had eliminated Italy's Angela Carini by forfeit, è managed to prevail against her Thai rival on points after three rounds.
The challenge proved sì hard-fought, but with the result never really in dispute. Imane Khelif picks up five 10-9 in the first round, withstands Suwannapheng’s comeback attempt in the second and takes home the decisive 5-0 in the third.
Unstoppable was her jubilation at the end of the round, which will give her an Olympic gold and silver medal in any case. Already after landing in the semifinals, beating Hungary's Anna Luca Hamori, the Algerian had celebrated with a liberating cry: "&It's a matter of dignity and honor for every woman", she had declared. In the final that will award the gold medal in the 66 kg, Imane Khelif will face China's Yang Liu.
On Tuesday, the spoils of the Italian expedition to the Paris 2024 Olympics had been enriched. It was Mattia Furlani who had given the Azzurri a medal, the first of the event in athletics: his bronze came in the long jump. Monday, on the other hand, had greeted the gold of Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti in the mixed skeet and the great feat in gymnastics, with the resounding gold of Alice D'Amato and the bronze of Manila Esposito in the beam.
