Track cycling: bronze for Italy in men's pursuit

Italy is confirmed on the podium in track cycling at the Paris 2024 Olympics. After the gold obtained in Tokyo 2020 in the final just against Denmark, the Italian quartet composed of Simone Consonni, Filippo Ganna, Francesco Lamon and Jonathan Milan again defeats the Danish one, formed by Tobias Hansen, Niklas Larsen, Carl-Frederik Bevort and Rasmus Pedersen in the 'finalina' of the men’s pursuit, hitting the bronze medal.

Deadly start by the Danes, who after 1,000 meters already had more than a one-second lead over the Azzurri. Ganna and teammates però lead a great comeback in the second part of the race, also taking advantage of the collapse of the opponents, and close with even two seconds ahead of Denmark.

Italy thus continues its streak of consecutive medal days at the Olympics: with the bronze medal obtained in track cycling, in fact, there are 32 days in a row in which the Tricolor è went to medal.

Italy has won a total of 40 medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, setting a new record in terms of spoils in a single edition of the Games. Ten gold medals, as many silver medals and 20 bronze medals as well. Will the Azzurri be able to do better in France?”
