Nicola Pietrangeli extols Lorenzo Musetti and stings Jannik Sinner
Tennis gave enormous satisfaction to Italy at the Paris 2024 Olympics, as Lorenzo Musetti won the bronze medal in the singles draw, while Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini won the gold in the women’s doubles. During an interview, Nicola Pietrangeli wanted to highlight the feats accomplished by the Italian and the two blue women and to praise the exponential growth of Italian tennis.
"For a long time, for three or four years at least, I have been saying that Lorenzo Musetti è the player who plays the best tennis in Italy. His bronze medal è fantastic, really beautiful. As for Sinner you have to ask him the reasons why he decided not to take part in the Olympics" began the'former Italian tennis player as quoted in "OA Sport".
"There was a lack of great players on the board, but Paolini and Errani won the gold medal and deserved it, è this is what counts. Only the results speak, so I am happy for them" continued the two-time Roland Garros winner.
"Italian tennis è once again the best in the world and proved it once again. There'è Paolini but also Matteo Berrettini who is winning several tournaments. Kudos to FITP president Angelo Binaghi, as without him we would not have been able to see this growth" Nicola Pietrangeli commented.
