Casadei-Tacchini win silver

Gabriele Casadei and Carlo Tacchini give Italy another medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In fact, after Ginevra Tadeucci's bronze in cross-country swimming and the Tita-Banti pair's gold in sailing (Nacra 17), the third medal of the day comes from canoe sprinting, where the blue duo'won silver in the C2 500m final.

The Piedmontese tandem, seventh in the middle of the race, completed a crazy comeback, finishing second in 1'41"08, behind only China (1'39"48). On the lowest step of the podium was Spain, which crossed the finish line in 1'41"18.

Italy has won a total of 40 medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, setting a new record for haul in a single edition of the Games. Ten gold medals, as many silver medals and 20 bronze medals as well. Will the Azzurri be able to do better in France?”
