After winning the bronze medal in the 800 meters and silver in the 1500, Paltrinieri hoped to bring home another great result in the 10 km swim in the Seine. Unfortunately, it didn't go as he hoped. The Italian è collapsed in the final part of the race, finishing with the ninth final time, far behind the best.

Paltrinieri, class of 1994, with participation in Paris 2024, è arrived at his fourth Olympics. With the two medals won in Paris 2024, the Carpi-born Italian è reached five Olympic medals, becoming the most successful Italian swimmer ever at the Games.
