Paulo Fonseca’s words after Milan-Monza

After the successes with Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid, Milan closed its preseason in a great way by also winning the second edition of the Trophy dedicated to Silvio Berlusconi against Monza. At the microphones of "Sportmediaset",  rossoneri coach Paulo Fonseca, in the usual post-match press conference, bluntly analyzed his team’s performance.

"I am happy especially with the offensive phase. Defensively I brought a different way of thinking and we need time to improve. If we want to press high and defend away from our goal there'è still some work to do. Even tonight we created more dangers when we were able to recover the ball in the advanced area" began the Portuguese coach.

"For me there's no doubt that Saelemaekers should stay. He's a team player who can play different positions. He works a lot defensively and offensively he does important things. I like him a lot and I want him to stay here with us" continued the former Lille coach regarding the Belgian outfielder.

"We only have five weeks of work behind us, we are missing a lot, but we can already glimpse something. The team is doing well. We played with two different formations tonight and we definitely have a lot to improve, but I am satisfied because the players are trying to do what we have been working on these weeks" added the former Roma coach.

"È difficult to say what canà happen this year, certainly I am very satisfied.Rafa è very open to work for the team, he has a good defensive participation. I always talk to him, I am sure he will be a different player" concluded Paulo Fonseca.
