"An amazing person": friend-rival praises Jannik Sinner

Interviewed by the ATP, Jack Draper reserved honeyed words when speaking of his friend and rival Jannik Sinner: "È a phenomenal player but, more importantly, an incredible human being. È very genuine, funny, and è that’s why we wanted to play together. I think we are good friends: we always greet each other, we always support each other regardless of the results. È it’s nice to have a kind of camaraderie and things like that, and even though we’re obviously rivals".

Draper and Sinner paired up in the doubles tournament valid for the Montreal Masters 1000, then the Englishman forfeited before the match against the Polish tandem Nys-Zielinski and their adventure è stopped in the quarterfinals.

"È a person for whom I have enormous respect and I think he is doing incredible things in the sport. È one of those guys who is showing us the way to get to the top, so to play with him è was a real honor" Draper enthused.
