Alexander Zverev, sigh of relief awaiting Jannik Sinner
The words of Alexander Zverev
Alexander Zverev joined Jannik Sinner in the semifinals at the Cincinnati tournament, the seventh Masters 1000 of the season. At the Lindner Family Tennis Center, the German struggled with Ben Shelton, in a match twice interrupted by rain and ended 3-6 7-6(3) 7-5.
"It's been very difficult, it was windy and against a serving opponent like Shelton you can't get into a rhythm", commented Zverev who also dreams of overtaking Jannik Sinner at the top of the rankings, after the Us Open.
"In the first set and a half I had no idea what I was doing, then the two breaks on 3-4 and 4-5 in the third, again when I was serving, didn’t help. You want to keep the pace but that sends you out of the comfort zone. I am very happy with how it went", he added.
