Peter Lundgren, one of Roger Federer's first coaches, has passed away at age 59. The former Swedish tennis player and coach è was decisive in King Roger’s career, and was by his side when he won the very first Slam tournament, the 2003 edition of Wimbledon. The two separated in 2004.
Lundgren, a former tennis player who reached as high as world No. 25 in his career, had long suffered from diabetes and a year ago had a foot amputated.
In his coaching career, in addition to Federer, he supervised other talents such as Rios, Safin, Dimitrov and Wawrinka.
