Christian Horner shuts down market rumors about Max Verstappen
Christian Horner è categorical about Max Verstappen’s future
Speaking at the microphones of "Sky Sports UK" during the first day of free practice of the Zandvoort GP, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, among the various topics discussed, wanted to shed light on the future of Max Verstappen, about whom rumors have been circulating for several months related to his possible move to Mercedes as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton.
"We have been repeating all year that we know the kind of agreement we have with Max and he knows the relationship he has with us. Definitely not è available for Mercedes and never has been. I am sure the team in Brackley has thought carefully about its options and if they choose Antonelli, you have to praise them for the risk they are taking by betting on such a young driver," began the Red Bull team principal.
"I think I said that Lawson next year will be on an F1 car. We have an'option on him, but nothingè been decided yet and we will clarify the situation in midà September" added the British manager.
"At the moment we still have a few weeks ahead to make this decision. Obviously we know the situation and Perez’s contract. With Daniel and Liam we have some options, but we will not talk about it in public until a decision" is made.
Christian Horner concluded.
