Fabio Balaso turns over a new leaf after Olympics
From the Paris Games to the Eurosuole Forum’s weight room after two weeks of relaxation served to recover energies and focus on new goals from Cucine Lube Civitanova’s point of view. In today’s morning the national blue Fabio Balaso and Mattia Bottolo returned to work under the orders of the biancorosso athletic trainer Max Merazzi. An invigorating card and a good amount of activity with the club kept the two Cook athletes, who immediately appeared motivated and on the ball, in their first labors of the season. In the afternoon, around 4:30 p.m., at the Palas the libero and the setter also held a technical session, as always open to the public, together with their teammates. Lube is also expecting the return of Olympic champion, transalpine center Barthelemy Chinenyeze, and Canadian setter Eric Loeppky, while Adis Lagumdzija, Turkish national team opposite, will arrive in September.
Fabio Balaso commented as follows: "In the last year, especially in the final part, I came close to important goals. With the national team I came close to a medal at the Paris Games, but we stopped at the foot of the podium, while with Lube I missed the Champions League Final by succumbing in the Semifinals. Already at the beginning of the season the Super Cup had practically slipped out of our hands at the tie break. For my part there’è the great regret of not having brought home titles, but also the knowledge that Italy and Lube always fight for important goals by standing up to their main opponents. My vacations? You call me ‘the machine’ but I also need to rest and these relaxing days have served to unplug both mentally and physically. The Olympics were tough in every way, I needed to recharge. Coming from a shorter than usual summer season, I feel energized and ready to start again. I am happy to be working with the group and look forward to the full team!”.
Mattia Bottolo echoed him: “I return to base regenerated and confident in the season to come. Soì as I believe in my means; the growth of the last six months has counted a lot. The fact that I can express myself better gives me; renewed energy. Starà to me prove myself, the daily work will help me and the team. The future of Lube è of young people? If anything, the present è already; of young people. The’average age è still lower, the group è good. We will have to grind experiences, but the collective will find a common ideology and our unity of purpose will foster rapid growth in the hunt for something important. The identity card shouldn’t be an alibi because we’re all motivated and intent on doing our best, then in the SuperLega it doesn’t depend only on us since rivals have strengthened, but we look from our side of the court. Then let’s not forget that we will also have to honor the Italian Cup, which we care a lot about, and the Challenge Cup, which is fascinating like all European cups”.
