After the knockout against Inter in the second day of the championship, Lecce also loses an important piece in defense. The Salento club, in fact, through a note issued on its official channels, has announced the sale of Valentin Gendrey to Hoffenheim.

"U.S. Lecce announces that it has sold, outright, the right to the sports performance of the player Valentin Gendrey to TSG Hoffenheim" this is the statement issued by the Giallorossi.

"TSG Hoffenheim, a Bundesliga soccer team, has signed right full-back Valentin Gendrey.

Valentin Gendrey è moved from French club Amiens SC to the then Italian second division club US Lecce in July 2021. Gendrey celebrated promotion to Serie A with the Italians in his first year and played 29 games (1 assist). For the past two seasons, Gendrey è has been an integral part of Lecce's starting eleven. During that time, the 24-year-old right-back played 74 games in the Italian top league (2 goals/7 assists) and two games in the Coppa Italia.

The former French Under-21 national team player has played three times with the youth team of the ““Equipe Tricolore” and previously played four matches with the Under-18 national team of his home country" this, however, is the note issued by the German club.

"Valentin è a defensively reliable full-back who has internalized the aggressive Italian style of play and è been able to gain a lot of experience in Serie A. Valentin has been part of the starting staff of Lecce in recent years, but he wants to grow further in his sport and for this reason he has decided to take the next step in his career with us at Hoffenheim” this, finally, is the welcome message from Hoffenheim`s DS Frank Kramer.
