Charles Leclerc promotes new Monza, on Ferrari waits
Runway promoted after renovations, for SF-24 will have toà wait.
Charles Leclerc in Monza is aiming to restart from the Ferrari that performed well at the Dutch Grand Prix, especially since the Cavallino will present further updates. On this point forò the Monegasque driver still prefers to fly low, while he already has an idea about the renovations made to the Brianza track ahead of the 2024 Italian Grand Prix.
"Now the Monza track è flatter, and the grip è improved,” Leclerc remarked at the press conference. “So we will have to manage the tires differently than in recent years". So a softer judgment, after other colleagues had called the track less fascinating: "Keeping the charm of a track è important, but the resurfacing of the asphalt had a purpose that I think has been achieved".
So the chapter on Ferrari’s novelties, addressed as said with caution by Leclerc: "I don’t think Monza is the place to check how much we have improved. We will understand it better in Baku or Singapore, here only the Parabolica can give us useful indications. In Monaco we had done well with the curbs, which forò lì you face at lower speeds. If it did not go as well here, I would not be disappointed".
But Leclerc also has some specific goals, ahead of the Italian Grand Prix and beyond: "McLaren has reduced its gap from Red Bull, we have not. And certainly Ferrari needs to get closer to these opponents. Having a moreù balanced Formula 1 forò I like it, becauseé è moreù unpredictable and enhances the qualitiesà of the drivers".
