For Lewis Hamilton, Monza has already changed.
Something è already changed.
Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari will join forces in the 2025 Formula 1 championship after facing each other as opponents for 18 seasons. Precisely for this reason, the seven-time world champion, at his last Italian Grand Prix as a Mercedes driver before his long-awaited move to Maranello, admitted that he experienced Monza in a different way than he had throughout his long and successful career.
"To have seen a Ferrari win today è it was fantastic, I imagine what emotions Leclerc experienced,‖ Hamilton told 'Sky Sport' -Winning on this circuit è always crazy, but I think racing there next year will be really incredible. I could see that all weekend, ever since the Drivers Parade".
Hamilton then explained what he meant: "For the first time I noticed that the Ferrari fans were looking at me with different eyes. It è seemed to me that they wanted to connect with me. They were dressed in red, as they always are, but this time it was different. I found it already very, very interesting".
Hamilton then took his hat off to the victory of his future teammate: "Leclerc did a fantastic job, you just have to congratulate him. But in general today McLaren and Ferrari were really strong, I tried to keep Sainz’s pace without però the possibilityà to change tires late like he did. Too bad, becauseé it seemed that here in Mercedes we had the possibilityé to get something better".
