The words of Antonio Candreva

Antonio Candreva has no intention of quitting. Having finished his experience with Salernitana, the 37-year-old Roman midfielder wants to be a protagonist again. "I spent the summer as if I were in a retreat. I trained with a trainer. Now I do it in Milan. Clearly, touching the ball alone è different from doing training in a group" he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I’m not used to being on hold. I miss the everyday, the locker room, the fans, the opponent – added the former Lazio and Inter among others – But the fire inside è lit. Football è my life. I am convinced that I can give a lot. I haven’t taken my brain off. I want to play, I’m looking for a club that values me and stimulates me. What does the GPS say? That I’m still going strong as a 28-year-old, not as an almost 38".

He then revealed who he draws inspiration from on the field: "Who do I see myself in today? Perhaps Chiesa, when he likes to play by making the wing strong in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3".

"Inter have shown that they are the team to beat. Thiago Motta's Juve intrigues me, but so does Fonseca's Milan, despite the start" Candreva commented on the new Serie A.
