Wojciech Szczesny spills the beans on Juventus'farewell

During an interview on the channel of the well-known Youtuber "Luca Toselli", Wojciech Szczesny spoke open-heartedly about his farewell to Juventus after as many as seven seasons and his decision to hang up his gloves at the age of 34.

"These seven seasons have been no easy personal challenge. When you get the adventure of a lifetime and do so well è it is a great feeling. I would have liked to help the team again this year, but that is not up to me. I didn't expect to find myself out of the project I never imagined it" began the former Juventus goalkeeper as quoted in "La Gazzetta dello Sport".

"I spoke very sincerely with Ds Giuntoli at the beginning of last season, when we had to discuss the renewal. We sat in a room and I told him that at the end of the 2024-2025 season I would retire. Then I started reading in the newspapers about the negotiations between the club and Di Gregorio and the situation è changed" continued l'former Roma extreme defender.

"I have a lot of esteem for Michele. I could imagine a scenario in which Perin wanted to leave and he would come to be the second. After the end of last season I was convinced to stay. I was aware of the negotiations with Monza, but I did not expect to end up out of the project after his arrival. When the deal è closed then we discussed the resolution. It was the company&#39s choice, I don&#39t agree with it but I accept it" added the former Arsenal man.

"I would have liked to do another year in Juventus because I felt I could still give so much, but after Juventus I was not ready for other challenges. Although I do not agree with the club&#39s choice, I have no regrets toward Giuntoli. I respect the club; they were also respectful toward me during the summer. I will remain a Juve fan. I do not like goodbyes and with the national team we are talking about the possibility of playing one last game. I hope, in addition, to have a chance to say a proper goodbye to Juventus and the fans at the stadium" Wojciech Szczesny commented.
