France, Mike Maignan è a fury: tough outburst from goalkeeper
It's a decidedly complicated start to the season for Mike Maignan. The French extreme defender, in fact, after the six goals he conceded in three games with AC Milan, took three more on his Nations League debut, where France è was defeated 1-3 by Luciano Spalletti's Italy. The blues’ knockout was not particularly welcomed by the transalpine goalkeeper, who, according to a report in "L'Equipe", reportedly harshly reprimanded his teammates in the locker room.
France’s No. 1 reportedly criticized the attitude, the performance of some of his national teammates, who did not take the field with the right desire, aggressiveness and team spirit.
Speaking in the press room, Mike Maignan analyzed the knockout with Italy in a more diplomatic way: "We wanted to leave with a victory after the European Championship, unfortunately we did not succeed. Now the challenge with Belgium awaits us, where we will immediately try to react. We had a confrontation in the locker room, but it remains between us. We will coldly analyze this defeat in the coming days and try to improve. There'è not to worry".
Luciano Spalletti's Italy, meanwhile, will be back on the field Monday, Sept. 9, away against Israel.
